“Trump Slams Journalist, Escapes Shooting at Correspondents’ Dinner”

Published:

Donald Trump expressed strong disapproval towards a journalist for citing excerpts from the manifesto of the suspected shooter during a 60 Minutes interview following the incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting.

Trump, accompanied by his spouse and high-ranking officials from the administration, was swiftly moved to safety by Secret Service personnel as attendees sought refuge under tables at the Washington Hilton when gunshots rang out on Saturday.

Although one officer sustained a hit, the impact was lessened by wearing a bulletproof vest, with expectations of a full recovery. Investigations suggest that the attack at the formal event was specifically targeted at Trump and other prominent government figures.

The alleged shooter, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California, reportedly sent messages to family members shortly before the shooting, identifying himself as a “Friendly Federal Assassin” and expressing grievances against the actions of the US government. Allen is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

During the CBS interview, Trump criticized presenter Norah O’Donnell for referencing the document allegedly sent by the suspect before the attack, which contained derogatory remarks about Trump. Trump vehemently denied the accusations, asserting his innocence and disassociating himself from the content of the manifesto.

Allen outlined his targets as “administration officials ranked from highest to lowest,” omitting FBI Director Kash Patel from his list. In an apparent reference to Trump, Allen mentioned his refusal to allow alleged wrongdoings to go unpunished.

Further scrutiny of Allen’s social media profiles revealed anti-Trump and anti-Christian sentiments. Content reportedly shared with authorities by his brother depicted Allen’s disdain for perceived injustices and the administration’s alleged involvement in various crimes.

Trump remarked on the emotional impact of the shooting on the First Lady, noting her visible distress. He praised Melania for her composed response to the situation, highlighting her strength and awareness during the ordeal.
