“Co-op Unveils Major Online Shopping Update for Loyalty Members”

Published:

Co-op has introduced a significant update for its numerous online shopping loyalty members. This change allows Co-op members to utilize their personalized weekly offers to save money when making online purchases, a feature previously exclusive to in-store shopping.

By leveraging these personalized offers, shoppers have the potential to save more than £80 annually on items they regularly purchase. Additionally, Co-op has expanded its online capabilities to enable members to redeem any monetary value added to their membership cards online, including game prizes and bonus offers.

Members can access these personalized offers when shopping through shop.coop; however, they are not applicable when using third-party delivery apps like Deliveroo or Just Eat. Last year, Co-op enhanced its personalized offers by 67%, increasing the total number of offers to over 700, featuring popular brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrims Choice, and Vimto.

Moreover, Co-op recently extended member price savings to shoppers using Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Co-op’s online shop. Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, emphasized the value of these online perks, aiming to grow the membership base to eight million by 2030.

Co-op, with approximately seven million members, charges a £1 fee for joining. The company has announced the opening of 18 new or upgraded stores within the first three months of 2026. The inaugural new store in 2026 launched in Willowbrook Park, Didcot in Oxfordshire, with plans for store renovations in Coventry and London.

Furthermore, Co-op has disclosed intentions to create thousands of new apprenticeships, committing £70 million through its Levy Share service to establish 7,000 matched apprenticeships by 2030. This initiative allows levy-paying employers to transfer unused apprenticeship levy funds to support businesses, charities, and community organizations.

Since its inception four years ago, the scheme has matched over 3,800 apprenticeships, with a focus on deprived communities and the care sector. Co-op’s ongoing efforts demonstrate its commitment to enhancing member benefits and community support.
