Born Clothing, an Irish fashion retailer, is closing down all its stores across Ireland. The brand once operated more than 20 branches nationwide, including three in Cork. These three Cork locations were situated at Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre, Wilton Shopping Centre, and Douglas Village Shopping Centre, offering a variety of clothing from different brands, including occasion wear.
Currently, there are 15 Born Clothing outlets still open in the country, all of which will start their closing-down sale this week with discounts of up to 70%. In a statement on Instagram, Born Clothing expressed gratitude to its customers for their support over the 16 years of operation.
The company also acknowledged its dedicated workforce, thanking them for their loyalty and commitment. The closing-down sale, set to begin on Thursday, April 23, will feature discounts of up to 70% on all products. Born Clothing has appointed provisional liquidators due to sustained losses over the years, as reported by Cork Beo.
According to information on the Born Clothing website, the business is currently under provisional liquidation, leading to the inability to redeem gift vouchers. Customers who make purchases during the liquidation sale can avail of a 30-day refund or exchange policy, provided they have a valid liquidation sales receipt and a legitimate reason for the return.
The notice on the website states that no gift vouchers, returns of pre-liquidation stock, or credit notes issued before the liquidation will be accepted. Claims for refunds, return of stock, or credit notes will be considered unsecured claims in the liquidation process.
