The family of a woman who tragically lost her life in a dog attack fondly remembers her as a vibrant and funny individual who was cherished by all. Lila Hall, also known as Carol, passed away after an incident involving two dogs at a residence in Willis Pearson Avenue, Wolverhampton, last week. Responders arrived at the scene late on April 15, but unfortunately, the 78-year-old was pronounced dead. The assault occurred around 11:30 pm.
In a statement released through West Midlands Police, Carol’s family described her as fun-loving, outgoing, humorous, and a friend to all. They expressed gratitude to the emergency services and appreciated the support and kind words from loved ones.
The dogs involved, not owned by Lila, were euthanized at the site and were confirmed not to be a banned breed, according to Birmingham Live. A police spokesperson conveyed condolences to Lila’s family and friends, acknowledging the distress within the community and assuring continued presence to provide support. The dogs underwent evaluation by the officers and an external police force, concluding they were not of a banned breed.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of controlling a dangerously unrestrained dog causing fatal injuries and has been released on police bail pending further investigation. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward by contacting 101 or using the live chat service on www.west-midlands.police.uk, referencing log number 6073 dated April 15.
