“Slow Broadband Plagues UK Streets: Heol-Y-Fedw Worst at 0.81Mbps”

The desire for faster internet connections is universal, yet many people are still struggling with slow broadband speeds in various parts of the country. Recent data from Broadband Genie has identified Heol-Y-Fedw, Cymmer, Port Talbot, as one of the worst areas in terms of broadband performance, with residents experiencing speeds as low as 0.81 Mbps.

This speed is inadequate for meeting basic streaming requirements on platforms like Netflix or Disney+, and downloading a movie could take over 15 hours. In comparison, this Welsh street is 1,494 times slower than the fastest street in the UK, where the same movie could be downloaded in just 40 seconds.

Apart from Heol-Y-Fedw, other locations facing similar connectivity challenges include Turnberry Crescent in Aberdeen, Wesley Street in Maesteg, and Occupation Lane in Lincoln.

• Rheolau Terrace, Pontypridd – Speed 2.80Mbps

Residents on these streets can potentially improve their broadband speeds by considering options like switching providers or upgrading to full fibre connections, according to Broadband Genie.
