Korean music group BTS has stirred controversy among some of its supporters following the appearance of two band members alongside American artist Chris Brown at his recent concert in Toronto. J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and RM (Kim Nam-joon) were spotted attending Brown’s show at Rogers Stadium, where he performed alongside Usher. BTS is also set to perform at the same venue later this month.
Pictures shared on Brown’s Instagram showed J-Hope and RM posing with the singer and later enjoying his performance. Brown, known for his criminal background and legal issues, has a history of assault charges dating back to 2009 when he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
Despite Brown’s controversial past, J-Hope and RM’s public association with him has sparked mixed reactions within the BTS fan community. While some expressed disappointment and disapproval, others defended the band members, suggesting they may have attended the concert primarily to see Usher rather than to support Brown.
The online discourse has been divided, with some fans expressing concerns about the band’s choice to engage with Brown, while others emphasized the importance of not rushing to judgment without knowing the full context. BTS representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment on the matter.
