If you own a Freeview television at home, it’s a great time to ensure it’s fully updated and retuned. Recently, two new channels have been added to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and kids’ TV content.
One of the new channels, wedotv Movies UK, has transitioned from an online-only service to a full over-the-air channel. This allows all households to access the channel, even without an internet-connected TV. The channel features a lineup of back-to-back films, including popular titles such as One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.
Additionally, a new channel called Cartoon Classics has been introduced for younger viewers, located on channel 214. This channel showcases classic animated programs like The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.
To enjoy these new channels on your Freeview TV, it’s recommended to ensure your device is updated. Freeview has advised users to retune their devices due to upcoming changes in channel broadcasting on October 22, 2025. Along with the new channels, Gems TV on channel 45 will now be known as Gemporia.
Freeview has provided instructions on how to retune devices:
– Press the menu button on your TV remote control
– Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’, or a similar option. Use the default code ‘1234’ or ‘0000’ if prompted for a password
– Choose ‘first-time installation’ or a similar option
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted and save the newly found channels
Freeview emphasized that channels are continuously evolving, with individual channels making decisions to move, add, or remove content. The platform aims to offer diverse and engaging content to its audience.
