“Two Lucky Brits Win £1M Premium Bonds Jackpots”

Published:

Two lucky Premium Bonds holders, one from Liverpool and the other from Norfolk, have each won a substantial £1 million prize. National Savings & Investments (NS&I) announced that the winning number for the first £1 million prize this month is 496VT504601, held by a resident of Liverpool who purchased the bond in April 2022. The second £1 million prize number, 282NN327573, belongs to a person from Norfolk who bought the winning bond in September 2016. These winners join the ranks of previous jackpot winners in their respective regions.

NS&I Retail Director, Andrew Westhead, expressed joy for the winners, stating that spring has arrived for the fortunate individuals. In addition to the jackpot wins, this month’s draw awarded over £410 million in tax-free prizes to more than six million winners. To check if you are a winner, you can use the NS&I prize checker app starting from Tuesday, March 3rd.

The total payout for this month’s draw amounts to £410,607,175, distributed among 6,221,321 premium bond holders. Since the inception of Premium Bonds in 1957, the total prize value has exceeded £40.3 billion, with a cumulative total of 821 million prizes awarded.

Apart from the £1 million winners, there were 78 bond holders who received £100,000 prizes this month, along with numerous other prize tiers ranging from £10,000 to £25. Premium Bonds, introduced in 1956, allow individuals to hold up to £50,000 in bonds, offering the potential to win tax-free prizes.

To qualify for the monthly prize draw, newly purchased Premium Bonds must be held for a full calendar month. The winning bond numbers are disclosed on the first working day of each month, with winners notified by Agent Million. Bond holders can conveniently check their prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 through the Premium Bonds prize checker app, the NS&I website, or by using Alexa on the day following the draw.

To access prize information on the NS&I website, holders need their Premium Bonds holder’s number. Alternatively, users of the Premium Bonds app can utilize their holder’s number or NS&I number to check for prizes.
