A teacher, identified as Cole Allen, is suspected of targeting President Donald Trump, whom he labeled a ‘villain’ in social media posts before allegedly carrying out an attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington DC. The incident led to the evacuation of Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other officials as Allen reportedly breached security and fired shots in the building’s foyer.
Allen, a 31-year-old part-time tutor and games developer from California, was apprehended at the scene and is set to face charges in a Washington court. Past social media posts by the California Institute of Technology graduate under the username ‘Coldforce’ have resurfaced, where he referred to Trump as a “sociopathic mob boss” and a “satanic idolator.”
In one post, Allen expressed his opinion that Trump could be influenced to change sides if confronted forcefully enough, criticizing JD Vance for cutting funding for Ukraine in another post. Allen also condemned Trump’s depiction as Jesus in an AI-generated image, questioning the compatibility of genuine Christian beliefs with supporting the administration.
Authorities revealed that Allen traveled from California to Washington, checked into the hotel hosting the dinner, and allegedly attempted to enter the ballroom before being subdued by Secret Service personnel. US Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated that Allen may have targeted administration members, including the president.
Following the incident, Trump emphasized the necessity of his proposed ‘Militarily Top Secret Ballroom’ for the White House East Wing on his Truth Social platform, implying that such an attack could have been prevented with the new structure in place.
