People’s Postcode Lottery has once again increased the price of tickets, much to the dismay of players. The monthly cost has gone up from £12.25 to £12.50, marking the third price hike by the subscription-based lottery. Previously, the price was raised from £12 to £12.25 just last year, following an increase from £10 to £12 back in 2023. Upset players have taken to TrustPilot to voice their frustration over the latest uptick.
Expressing disappointment, one individual questioned, “ANOTHER PRICE INCREASE. How much is too much?” Another player commented on the continuous rise in prices, fearing it would soon reach £13, making the game less enjoyable and more of a letdown each month.
In response to the complaints, People’s Postcode Lottery stated, “With the upcoming 25p increase, we will actually have our largest ever prize pool to be won this year. This means more prizes to compete for across our draws, providing a fresh and exciting prize plan for all our players.”
The price adjustment is set to take effect for the April 2026 draw, already reflected on the lottery’s website. The People’s Postcode Lottery operates based on players’ postcodes, entering them into daily, weekly, and monthly draws. Prizes include daily £1,000 wins for 20 postcodes, a shared £1 million Saturday prize among residents, and monthly prizes of £250,000 or more.
Multiple winners living on the same street can claim victories in the People’s Postcode Lottery. Launched in 2005, the lottery has raised over £1 billion for numerous charities through the participation of millions of players. Last month, a heartwarming story emerged as a woman, Gail Wood, discovered she had won £144,000 while recovering from major surgery, bringing unexpected joy and financial relief during a challenging time.
