Armed police were dispatched to a vacation resort in Cornwall following reports of a woman being allegedly assaulted by a man wielding a knife. The incident occurred near the coastal town of Looe around midday on Friday, April 17.
Devon and Cornwall Police responded to the assault call and found the woman with knife injuries. She was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment and was discharged later that same day. A 43-year-old man from Plymouth was apprehended the next day in connection with the assault. He was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and has since been released on bail as further investigations are underway.
The police conducted a search at the holiday park and in the Southway area of Plymouth to locate the suspect, who was believed to be armed.
