Gas station hero saves abducted teen in Michigan

Published:

A 16-year-old girl in Michigan was rescued by a gas station worker after discreetly signaling for help. The girl was waiting at a bus stop in Hamtramck when she was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and sexually assaulted by a man named Donald Fields. Another student witnessed the incident and immediately called 911 as Fields drove away.

Fields later entered a petrol station with the girl and asked her to buy cigarettes for him. The girl silently mouthed ‘help’ to the worker, Abdulrahman Abohatem, who then intervened, ensuring the girl’s safety. Police, informed by students of the girl’s location, swiftly responded and apprehended Fields outside the store.

Fields faces multiple charges, including criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, felonious assault, and firearm-related offenses. He pleaded not guilty and is currently held without bond, with his next court appearance scheduled for April 30. Authorities commended the girl’s quick thinking, emphasizing the importance of seeking justice for the victim.
