The driver of the vehicle has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, claiming that the brakes failed.
According to Joshua’s lawyer, the journey began in Lagos, and initially, Joshua was seated in the front but was asked to move to the back due to visibility issues. The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged with multiple offenses, including causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a valid license.
Joshua, a professional boxer, was on vacation in Nigeria following a recent victory in Miami. His friends, who tragically lost their lives in the accident, were long-time associates and part of his inner circle. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, and other boxing champions have offered their condolences to the grieving families.
After being discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve, Joshua has not publicly commented on the incident. He was deemed fit to recover at home and recently attended a funeral service for his friends in Lagos.
