Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors alleging fraud for not fulfilling obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors put in around $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with a mission to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in a legal complaint filed in federal court in Delaware.
Investors claim they were assured that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they argue that Gomez and other executives failed to deliver on commitments, such as the creation of a mobile app.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly agreed to contractual obligations but did not follow through. The plaintiffs assert that the company did not materialize as a viable business and did not fulfill even basic responsibilities like timely payment to staff and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet replied to requests for comment, as per the lawsuit. The legal action contends that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were exposed in an online news report in September 2025. The investors are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
