WhatsApp users can now enjoy a significant enhancement as Meta’s chat platform unveils a dedicated Apple Watch app. This new feature allows users to conveniently send messages and respond to chats without the need to access their smartphones.
Although WhatsApp notifications have been available on the Apple Watch for years, the functionality was limited. Users could only view message snippets rather than the full content. With the latest update, the app now mirrors the experience on smartphones, tablets, and PCs, enabling users to view complete messages, respond with emojis, and send voice memos.
The update introduces various new features for Apple Watch users, including call notifications, the ability to view full messages directly on the watch, sending voice messages, quick emoji reactions, improved media display with clear images and stickers, enhanced chat history visibility, and end-to-end encryption for privacy.
WhatsApp assures users that this is just the beginning of an improved Apple Watch experience and promises more functionality in the future. Notably, the new WhatsApp Apple Watch app is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later models running watchOS 10 or newer.
While the app is not yet available, its release is expected shortly. Stay tuned for the arrival of the enhanced WhatsApp experience on Apple Watch.
