British residents are in for a treat as a surge of springtime warmth is on the horizon, with temperatures set to rise to a pleasant 21°C in the coming days, as per the latest weather projections.
According to forecast data from WXCharts, which is based on MetDesk modeling, a period of warm weather is expected to sweep across parts of England and Wales by Saturday, April 25. The highest temperatures are anticipated in the Southern and Midlands regions.
The city of London is poised to experience some of the warmest weather, with temperatures reaching as high as 21°C. Surrounding areas such as Berkshire and Surrey are also gearing up for unseasonably warm conditions for April. Places like Kent, Crawley, and Reading are forecasted to see temperatures peaking around 20°C.
Heading further west, Worcestershire and the broader West Midlands are likely to bask in warm weather, with temperatures hitting 21°C, while neighboring areas are expected to hover around 19°C. Across regions from Leeds downwards, including the Midlands, Wales, the Southeast, and Southwest, temperatures are predicted to range from 17°C to 21°C, with many areas settling around 18°C to 19°C.
Conversely, cooler conditions are expected in the northern regions, with Scotland projected to see temperatures ranging from 7°C to 9°C in various areas. Certain parts of the Scottish Highlands, particularly around Dumfries and Galloway, could experience warmer spells reaching up to 17°C, while the Lake District may see highs of approximately 16°C.
The forecast aligns with the Met Office’s anticipation of mainly dry and sunny conditions as April nears its end.
In their extended forecast covering April 25 to May 4, the Met Office predicts that high pressure will prevail, resulting in mostly dry weather with clear skies or sunshine for many regions.
While some sporadic rainy spells might affect northern and western areas over the weekend, a brief influx of colder air from the north could bring temporary showers, possibly wintry, to the northeast. Winds are expected to be predominantly gentle, although there could be a temporary increase in strength in the northeast.
Overall, temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above average for most areas, although there is a chance of cooler weather in the northern regions, particularly in the northeast, during the weekend.
