“Beware: Top 10 Worst Passwords Revealed”

Published:

Managing multiple online accounts often leads people to choose easily remembered passwords. However, using simplistic or weak codes can make accounts susceptible to cyber attacks.

Despite numerous warnings, some individuals still utilize passwords that can be easily cracked within seconds. If you suspect your security measures are inadequate, it is crucial to make immediate adjustments.

To highlight what not to do, the NordPass team has disclosed some of the most commonly employed passwords in the UK.

Surprisingly, certain individuals are using passwords such as “admin,” “123456,” and even “password.”

The top 10 worst passwords are as follows:

1. admin

2. 123456

3. password

4. 12345678

5. 123456789

6. Password1

7. Password

8. 12345

9. Lennon11

10. 1234567890

Contrary to common belief, the issue of weak passwords is not exclusive to older individuals. NordPass reports that password quality is equally low across all age groups.

Researchers have noted a consistent vulnerability pattern across different age brackets. “12345” and “123456” consistently rank among the most popular choices for every demographic.

A positive trend observed this year is an increase in the diversity of passwords, with more individuals incorporating symbols and capital letters. This practice enhances security levels and makes passwords more challenging to crack.

Nonetheless, NordPass advises against using passwords like “P@ssw0rd,” “Admin@123,” or “Abcd@1234” as they are still relatively easy for hackers to decipher.
