LG TV owners are in for a treat just in time for the holiday season as LG has announced a significant upgrade to its LG Channels platform. This update brings a host of new features and additional free content, including shows from Sky, to living rooms.
The recent update, which has started rolling out this month, allows users with specific LG screens to access content from Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without requiring a subscription. Furthermore, LG has also introduced the Sky News channel to enhance its free lineup.
In addition to these new offerings, the update introduces more content options such as LG1 Christmas for festive programming, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf fans.
Aside from the new channels, the upgrade includes overall improvements like personalized content recommendations and a revamped user interface aimed at simplifying and expediting the process of finding something to watch.
A new feature called “Quick Access” enables viewers to press the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program to instantly access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and popular content.
Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Centre at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, emphasized the goal of LG Channels in providing seamless access to engaging content. With the latest upgrade, the platform aims to enhance everyday viewing experiences for millions of users worldwide through new features like a refreshed user interface and improved personalization.
