“US Marines Seize Iranian Ship in Bold Strait of Hormuz Operation”

Published:

Video footage released by US Central Command captures the intense moment when US marines boarded an Iranian tanker after reportedly causing damage to its engine room. The marines were seen descending from a US aircraft onto the Iranian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, with a helicopter circling overhead before the boarding operation.

The US assumed “full custody” of the cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman, marking the initial seizure since the blockade began earlier in the week. Central Command shared the video, stating, “U.S. Marines left the USS Tripoli by helicopter, flew over the Arabian Sea, and boarded the M/V Touska. The operation took place on April 19, following the USS Spruance’s action to disable Touska’s propulsion after the ship ignored multiple warnings from US forces over a span of six hours.”

President Donald Trump confirmed the US interception of the Iranian vessel for attempting to breach the blockade. He announced on social media, “Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA tried to pass our Naval Blockade, but our Navy stopped them by damaging the engine room after the Iranian crew ignored warnings.”
